Rights of medication administration

Topic: Pharmacology

Checks made for every dose so medications are given safely: right client, right drug, right dose, right route and right time, often extended with right documentation, right reason and the right to refuse. Repeat the checks while preparing the drug and again at the bedside. The rights reduce errors but do not replace system-level safeguards.
