Sinus tachycardia
Topic: Medical-surgical
A regular rhythm from the sinus node at a rate above 100 beats/min in an adult, with a normal P wave before every QRS. It is usually the heart's response to a trigger such as fever, pain, anxiety, hypovolemia, bleeding, hypoxemia, anemia or stimulants; a fast rate shortens the filling time between beats. Treat the cause, not the rate: assess pain, temperature, fluid status, oxygen saturation and signs of bleeding, and report a new, persistent tachycardia.
- In Turkish:
- Sinüs taşikardisi
