Electrocardiogram
Topic: Anatomy & physiology
A recording of the heart's electrical activity through electrodes placed on the skin. The P wave shows atrial depolarization, the QRS complex ventricular depolarization and the T wave ventricular repolarization; the PR interval is normally 0.12–0.20 seconds and the QRS shorter than 0.12 seconds. It reveals arrhythmias, ischemia and electrolyte disturbances. Place the electrodes correctly and help the client stay still.
