Drug interaction
Topic: Pharmacology
When the effect of a drug is increased or decreased by another drug, a food, an herbal product or alcohol. For example, grapefruit juice slows the metabolism of some drugs, and sudden changes in vitamin K-rich foods alter the effect of warfarin. Ask about every product the client takes, including herbal ones, and check an interaction reference.
