Sampling

Topic: Management

Selecting the part (the sample) of a population that a study will examine. In probability sampling every member has a known chance of selection (simple random, systematic, stratified, cluster); non-probability methods such as convenience or purposive sampling are more open to bias. Results can be generalized to the population only from a representative sample, and a larger sample gives a smaller sampling error.
