Negligence and malpractice
Topic: Management
Negligence is failing to give the care a reasonably prudent nurse would give in the same circumstances, or giving it wrongly; when a professional's negligence harms a client, it is malpractice. Liability generally requires a duty of care, a breach of that duty, harm, and causation linking the breach to the harm. Care that meets standards and accurate documentation protect the nurse.
