Screening
Topic: Community health
Testing or examining people without symptoms to detect disease early; an example of secondary prevention. A test's sensitivity is its ability to correctly identify people with the disease, and its specificity its ability to correctly identify those without it. A positive screen is not a diagnosis and must be confirmed by a diagnostic test. In Türkiye, breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening is offered through national programs, including Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening and Training Centers (KETEM).
